Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

NxtClutch ("we", "us", "our") is a gaming team formation and matchmaking platform operated as a sole proprietorship based in India. You can reach us at hello@nxtclutch.com.

2. What information we collect

Information you give us directly:

• Account details — username, email address, and password (stored as a bcrypt hash, never in plain text)
• Profile information — bio, games, rank, role, playstyle, availability, gaming schedule, server region preference, squad details
• Content you post — LFG posts, comments, replies, reviews, social posts, flex wall images
• In-game usernames you share when applying to LFG posts or accepting play requests
• Referral data — if you sign up using a friend's referral link, we record that connection to credit their reward
• Payment information when subscribing to Pro — processed entirely by Google Play Billing via RevenueCat; we never see or store your card details

Information collected automatically:

• Last seen timestamp — updated when you use the app, shown as "Active recently" on your profile and used to show your gaming status in Find Now
• Device push notification token — used only to send you in-app notifications
• Basic server logs — IP address, request timestamps, error logs — retained for up to 30 days for security and debugging

3. How we use your information

• To provide and operate the NxtClutch platform
• To match you with compatible players based on your profile data, including game, rank, role, availability, and server region
• To show you and other players who is currently online and available to play (Find Now)
• To send push notifications for events you've opted into (LFG applications, play requests, reviews, mentions, referral rewards)
• To process Pro subscription payments via Google Play Billing and RevenueCat
• To track referral links and credit free Pro rewards when a referred friend verifies their account
• To send transactional emails (account verification, password reset, referral reward confirmation) via our email provider
• To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and violations of our Terms of Service — including fraudulent referral activity

4. What we share and with whom

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share data only in these limited cases:

• Google Play Billing — payment processing for Pro subscriptions, handled entirely by Google. We never see or store your card details.
• RevenueCat — manages subscription status and entitlements on our behalf. RevenueCat receives your subscription status and a unique app user ID, but not your name, email, or payment details. Subject to RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
• Cloudinary — image hosting for avatars, banner images, and flex wall photos.
• MongoDB Atlas — our database provider. Data is stored in encrypted form.
• Expo — push notification delivery only. Expo receives your device's push token to deliver notifications; it does not access your account data, profile content, or any personal information beyond what's needed to route a notification to your device.
• Resend — transactional email delivery (verification, password reset, referral rewards).
• Law enforcement — only if required by a valid legal order.

All third-party services are bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.

5. Public profile data

Your public profile page at nxtclutch.com/u/username is visible to anyone with the link — including people who don't have the NxtClutch app. This page shows your username, bio, games, rank, squad, reviews, badges, and flex wall. Your email address is never shown publicly.

Your in-game username is only visible to the LFG host who accepted your application, or the play request sender/receiver once a request is accepted — never to other players, and never on your public profile.

6. Referral program

NxtClutch offers a one-time referral reward: when someone signs up using your referral link and verifies their email, you receive 1 month of Pro free. This reward is granted once per account, for your first successful referral only. We track which account referred which signup solely to credit this reward and detect abuse (such as self-referral attempts or fake accounts). This data is not shared with any third party beyond what's described in section 4.

7. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your profile, posts, and personal data are permanently deleted within 30 days. Reviews you've received from other users may remain as anonymised text without your username attached.

8. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data on your profile at any time from within the app
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Opt out of push notifications at any time from your device settings
• Request a copy of your data by emailing hello@nxtclutch.com

9. Security

Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text. All API communication uses HTTPS. Payment data is handled entirely by Google Play Billing and never touches our servers. We use rate limiting and authentication middleware to protect against unauthorised access.

No system is 100% secure. If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it responsibly to hello@nxtclutch.com.

10. Children's privacy

NxtClutch is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that a user is under 13, we will delete their account promptly.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the platform grows. When we make significant changes, we'll notify you via the app or email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
